The postseason picture is nearly complete for at least seven Mississippi Athletic Conference schools.
Davenport West still has an outside shot at a 10th game if the Falcons can beat Burlington next Friday and earn win No. 3.
By next Friday night, the MAC will most likely look like this:
Clinton 9-0
Bettendorf 8-1
Pleasant Valley 6-3
North Scott 5-4
Davenport Assumption 5-4
Davenport Central 5-4
Burlington 4-5
Davenport West 2-7
Muscatine 1-8
Davenport North 0-9
If that's the case - and it may not be - Clinton would snatch the top seed in the Class 4A eastern bracket.
Bettendorf would end up with 10 more playoff points than Linn-Mar (likely 8-1) by virtue of four wins against winning teams. That would give the Bulldogs the third seed and a home game for substate. A four-win team would await, probably Burlington or Cedar Rapids Kennedy.
It looks like the East will have four seven-win teams, meaning PV will slip to a ninth seed. Above the Spartans will be two teams at 9-0 (Clinton and Iowa City High), two at 8-1 (Bettendorf and Linn-Mar) and four at 7-2 (Cedar Rapids Xavier, CR Washington, Dubuque Hempstead and Cedar Falls).
That's a definite road game for PV, playing at one of the 7-2 teams, probably Cedar Falls, which lost to Hempstead and Xavier.
North Scott would be the top seed among the three 5-4 teams, having beaten Assumption and Central. All three of those teams will play road games at the other three seven-win schools.
Of course, North Scott could beat Clinton and/or Assumption could top Bettendorf, throwing everything into a haze.
