Eight players from the Quad-City area, including two who will lead their teams into state semifinal games today, have been named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State team.
The IHSFCA honors 18 players in each of the state's eight classes, regardless of position.
Among those on the list are Morrison running back-linebacker Josh Vos, who will be in action today in a Class 2A semifinal against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, and Geneseo lineman Aaron Kotecki, whose team faces Richmond-Burton with a 4A state finals berth on the line.
Also selected were Adam Olin of Alexis United (Class 1A), James Matson of Orion (2A), Sean Walker of Annawan-Wethersfield (2A), James Stratton of Sherrard (3A), Tyler Loos of Sterling (5A) and Oliver Vanderlinden of Rock Island (6A).
