Riverdale standout Dorian Ulrey earned a spot on Team USA for the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, in August.

The Razorbacks middle-distance runner finished third Sunday in the 1,500-meter finals at the U.S. Championships in Oregon. Ulrey, who began his track and field career at Northern Iowa, tracked down Oregon Track Club runners Stephen Pifer and Will Leer to finish third in 3 minutes, 42.84 seconds.

Ulrey's season-best of 3:39.93 does not meet the World Championships "B" standard of 3:39.20. He still has a chance to meet the "B" standard, and because the top two finishers have the "A" standard, Ulrey would travel to the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin in August should he attain a time of 3:39.20 or better.
