The shovels are out, and the sixth grade students at Jane Addams Elementary School in Moline are ready to dig in celebration of Arbor Day. They will be planting a tree at 9 a.m. on Friday at their school at 3520 53rd St.
City foresters will provide Jane Addams school with one tree. The crew will come and dig the hole, partially fill it and then have the students finish the job.
A proclamation declaring Arbor Day will be read after the tree has been planted, and the city foresters will provide treats for the class.
