Scott Community College officials have canceled all remaining classes today at the Belmont campus because of a power outage.
MidAmerican utility workers are working to find the source of the outage, which happened around 2:30 p.m. After unsuccessfully trying to determine the cause of the power loss, officials decided to cancel classes, said Alan Campbell, spokesman for the Eastern Iowa Community College District.
"They are calling it a partial outage," Campbell said. "It was enough that we had to close down campus."
Officials plan to reopen the campus Tuesday morning, Campbell said.
