Rock Island County Clerk Richard Leibovitz and the attorneys representing Rock Island mayoral candidates Dennis Pauley and David Levin officially finished the court-ordered recount Monday morning.
The last of the ballots had already been looked at Friday, but the clerk and his staff went back through Monday and pulled some ballots that didn't have an election judge's initials. The ballots were already looked at during the recount but had not been set aside.
Those ballots will each be placed in a separate folder and submitted to Circuit Judge Mark VandeWiele for review along with some other ballots looked at last week.
Leibovitz will make his report to the judge by Thursday. A status hearing is scheduled for June 29 and another hearing July 2.
Pauley won the April 7 election by a count of 3,066 to 3,053, but after the recount, Levin now contends that he has won the election by one vote.
