St. Ambrose celebrates commencement in Moline

St. Ambrose University held its spring commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the i wireless Center, 1201 River Drive, Moline.

A total of 700 degrees, including 485 bachelor’s degrees, 201 master’s degrees and 14 doctoral degrees, were conferred during the ceremony.

Deere & Company Chairman and CEO Robert Lane delivered the commencement address. Lane received an honorary doctor of public service degree.

Also receiving an honorary degree was Jeanne Wonio, an active volunteer in the Catholic community, who received an honorary doctor of humane letters degree.

St. Ambrose University is a private, co-educational, liberal arts university affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport celebrating  126 years of enriching lives. Founded in 1882, St. Ambrose has a current enrollment of 3,800 students, offers more than 75 undergraduate majors as well as master’s and doctoral programs, and maintains an 11-to-1 student-faculty ratio.
