A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. today for Scott Community College’s new Culinary Arts/Hospitality Center.
The rainy weather moved the ceremony indoors to the college’s Applied Technology Building, Room 3123, on the Bettendorf campus.
Construction crews began moving dirt for the new 10,000-square-foot building last week. The $2.3 million center is scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2010. It will include instructional labs, a baking lab and a cooking demonstration lab, as well as classroom space for the college’s culinary arts, hospitality management and events management programs.
