Traffic was backed up in downtown Davenport this morning when two vans collided at the intersection of 3rd Street and busy Brady Street.

The accident occurred about 7:45 a.m.

Police are still investigating the accident, which involved a gray Chrysler minivan and a white, full-sized Ford van.

When rescue workers arrived, the gray van was facing eastbound in the north lane of 3rd Street with its front end in the intersection. The white van was on its side on the sidewalk resting against a light pole on the northeast corner of Brady and 3rd streets.

The driver of the white van was removed from the vehicle by firefighters transported by Medic Ambulance to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the other vehicle did not require medical attention.

Traffic is being detoured while the crash scene is cleaned up.
