Good morning Quad-Cities. It's race day. The Quad-City Times Bix 7 will be starting in a couple of hours. Already some runners and spectators are making their way to downtown Davenport in search of a coveted parking space.
It's currently 63 degrees under fair skies.
Today we'll see some patchy fog in the area before 9 a.m., then skies will become mostly sunny with a high near 79 degrees.
According to David Sheets, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, a race time temperature of 68 degrees will await runners and walkers. Race participants catch a break this year as the relative humidity will be below normal for this time of year. West winds will be between 5 and 15 mph.
The rest of the day will be a dandy one with no rain in the forecast. In case you slept through it, we got all the rain we needed last night with a record 2.44 inches of rain falling on the Quad-Cities. Plus there was plenty of wind and lightning.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. West wind between 5 and 15 mph.
