It's time for fall/holiday bazaars in the Q-C

Following is a list of bazaars/dinners planned as fundraisers by various Quad-City area churches, schools and other nonprofit groups.

Beginning next Sunday and continuing weekly through the bazaar season, you'll find a listing for the upcoming week in this section.

If your organization isn't listed and you'd like it to be, there's still time. Just follow the directions at right. Your event will be printed in the week in which it will be held.

SEPTEMBER

Playcrafter's Barn Theater: Mrs. Claus Cupboard

Sept. 13 and 20, 1 to 5 p.m.

Sept. 17-19, 5 to 9 p.m.

Details: Playcrafter's Barn Theater, 4950 35th Ave., Moline. This before-the-show shopping experience features gift baskets, wreaths and more. There are more shopping hours throughout the holiday season. Proceeds go to capital projects at Playcrafter's Theater. Free.

Sacred Heart Church: Chicken Dinner/annual Fall Festival

Sept. 20, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Details: Oxford Junction (Iowa) Legionnaire Ballroom, Oxford Junction. Bake sale, crafts, Country Store, silent auction, games for all ages and a polka Mass performed by local talent at 10 a.m. at the church. Dinner, kolaches, deep-fried chicken and dressing with all the trimmings. Adults/all carryout, $8; children ages 5-10years, $4; free for preschool.

First Christian Church: Grandma's House annual Fall Bazaar

Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Details: First Christian Church, 3501 7th St., East Moline. Hand-crafted items including baby afghans, crib quilts, hand towels, wood items, bake sale, ready-to-bake frozen apple pies and the attic room. Luncheon, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., barbecues, hotdogs, vegetable beef soup, pies, cakes.

Neighborhood Rummage Extravaganza

Sept. 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Details: High Point Commons Business Park, 2715 W. 63rd St., Davenport. This neighborhood rummage sale will be sponsored by area businesses with proceeds to Dressed for Success. Rain date: Saturday, Oct. 3.

St. Joseph's Church: 22nd annual Parish Festival

Sept. 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Details: St. Joseph's Church, 250 S. Faith St., Preston, Iowa. Featuring Mass at 10 a.m., music by the New Spirit Band and St. Joe's Youth Band, raffles, quilt raffle, bingo, Country Store, bake sale and children's games. Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kalmes' chicken and ham dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, dressing, large salad bar, desserts. Adults, $8; kids ages 6-12 years, $4; children ages 5 years and younger are free.

New Era Lutheran Church: Ye Olde Country Store

Oct. 7, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spring Village: annual Bazaar/Rummage Sale/Bake Sale

Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Details: Spring Village Apartments, 3320 Spring St., Davenport. Handmade crafts, homemade baked goods, rummage and white elephant items. Lunch, sloppy joes, coffee, tea and dessert. Proceeds to the Spring Village Tenants' Association.

Illinois City United Methodist Church: Fall Harvest Dinner and Bazaar

Oct. 14, 3 to 7 p.m.

Details: Illinois City United Methodist Church, 12507 238 St. A Country Store with homemade noodles and other items. Dinner, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, gravy, lima beans, salads, pies. Adults, $8.50; children, $3.50, carry-outs available.

St. Mark Lutheran Church: Rummage Sale/Bazaar/ Bake Sale

Oct. 15, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Details: St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2363 W. 3rd St., Davenport. Furniture, clothing, books, kitchen items, handcrafted items, baked goods, miscellaneous treasures. Proceeds go to the seminary fund.

Chancy Lutheran Church: Bazaar and Luncheon

Oct. 17, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Details: Chancy Lutheran Church, 2315 Wallace, Clinton, Iowa. Quilts, baked goods, crafts. Luncheon, sandwich, salad, dessert. Adults, $5; children 5 years and younger, $1.50.

St. John's United Methodist Church: Taste of Autumn Bazaar

Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Details: St. John's United Methodist Church, 109 E. 14th St., Davenport. Baked goods, homemade noodles, candy, jams, jellies, pickles, seasonal crafts and decorations, used books, collectibles. Also, lunch and a program at noon, $10.

Union Presbyterian Church: Bazaar

Oct. 17, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Details: Union Presbyterian Church, 401 Main St., Lost Nation, Iowa. Country Store with arts, crafts, garden produce (apples, pumpkins, bittersweet, Indian corn, hedge apples, house plants). There also will be baked goods including pies, cakes, cookies, breads, jams/jellies, pickles, candies and snack mixes. Luncheon, 11 a.m., creamed chicken or maid rites on a bun, gelatin salads, homemade pies. Adults, $6; children 10 years and younger, $4. Proceeds go to mission projects.

Davenport West High School: Fall Craft Show

Oct. 24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Details: Davenport West High School, 3505 W. Locust St., Davenport. Linens, floral arrangements, candles, lotions, soaps, handcrafted wood, jewelry, American Girl doll clothes, seasonal items and handcrafts. There also will be a bake sale and luncheon. Proceeds benefit the school's vocal music department.

First Christian Church: Harvest Dinner and Bazaar

Nov. 13, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Details: First Christian Church, 510 E. 15th St., Davenport. Seasonal crafts, attic treasures, canned and baked items, candies. Dinner, 5:30-7:30 p.m., turkey with all the trimmings served family-style, adults, $8; children 10 years and younger, $4. Reservations required.

Parents can enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and cookies.

Union Presbyterian Church: Cookie Walk

Dec. 5, 9 to 11 a.m.

Details: Union Presbyterian Church, 401 Main St., Lost Nation, Iowa. Featuring a cookie/candy walk with Coffee Corner. Holiday cookies and candy are priced a $5 per pound. The Coffee Corner will feature homemade cinnamon rolls and juice, 75 cents each.
