The traveling Bud Light Lounge will make a stop at The District this weekend as part of the Boneyard Boogie, the Daiquiri Factory's Halloween celebration.
The Lounge is a 53-foot trailer that transforms into a 3,510-square-foot, multilevel club featuring a deck, performance stage and video floor.
"It's two semis that come in and unload like a Transformer," said Kyle Peters, the owner of the Daiquiri Factory, adding that the Bud Light Lounge normally makes stops at much larger events such as the World Series and Super Bowl. "For us to land it in the Quad-Cities on Halloween night is a pretty big deal."
Also new to this year's Boneyard Boogie is a Michael Jackson tribute dance troupe that will perform the King of Pop's famous "Thriller" song and dance in full costume and makeup, Peters said.
"Thriller" is naturally associated with Halloween, but it will play an even bigger role in this year's celebration because of Jackson's death, he said.
"Naturally, with someone with the celebrity status that he had, I think people are going to want to celebrate his life and his accomplishments," Peters said. "I think Michael Jackson will be the No. 1 Halloween costume this year, just like last year with Heath Ledger, a lot of people were The Joker."
