| Davenport | Storm sewer work on Northwest Boulevard near Pine Street is being slowed by frequent rains, but is expected to be completed within the next 60 days. During the storm sewer work, one direction of traffic is being routed onto the gravel shoulder of the road. This rerouting is dusty and bumpy, but necessary, according to a news release from the City of Davenport. Dust control is being applied which may get on motorists vehicles. This substance is a tree sap derivative and can be washed off with soap and water. Drivers averse to dust, mud, and potholes, should choose a different route around the project, such as Division Street to the east or Wisconsin to the west. In addition, neither north nor southbound traffic on Pine can turn east onto Northwest Boulevard at this time. Southbound traffic is being routed to 53rd Street to go east, and northbound traffic should go either to Interstate 80 to Brady Street or to 83rd Street to Slopertown Road to Division Street. Upon completion of the storm sewer work, the east half of the existing pavement will be removed and southbound traffic will be routed on the west shoulder. This rerouting will last for a considerable length of time while the easterly two lanes of the new pavement are constructed, so again you should expect dust, dust control, rough road and potholes.
