Moline police have reopened an exit ramp off Interstate 74 to John Deere Road after a sport utility vehicle flipped and injured five passengers.

Moline Police Sgt. Keith Charvat said some of the injuries were serious but not life-threatening. He did not know how many people sustained serious injuries.

The SUV was southbound on Interstate 74 when the driver took the westbound John Deere Road exit ramp too fast and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll, he said. The accident happened at 11 a.m. Friday and police had to close the exit ramp for an hour and a half.
