Anyone in the Q-C auditioning for ‘Top Model?’

There will be a casting call from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport for the reality TV show “America’s Next Top Model.”

Standing at 5 feet 2 inches tall and size 6 in pants, I am too short and wide for the competition. But I have happily spent countless Saturday afternoons watching “Top Model” marathons on cable channel VH1.

For those of you who haven’t seen the show, former supermodel-turned-talk-show/reality-TV-show-host Tyra Banks gives women (who are at least 5 feet 7 inches tall and between the ages of 18 and 27) from across the country the chance to compete in various challenges geared toward teaching them how to become better models and use what they learn in photo shoots. The winner of the contest receives a modeling contract.

Like most reality TV shows, anything can happen, you find yourself rooting for or against certain contestants, and it is horribly addicting.
