Memorial will be dedicated

U.S. Army Garrison, Rock Island Arsenal, will dedicate a living memorial at 9 a.m. Thursday on north side of Rodman Avenue across from Memorial Park, Rock Island Arsenal.

The site, outlined with trees and two types of arborvitae, has a limestone monument honoring 283 Illinoisans and Iowans who died in Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom combat operations or in fighting global terrorism.

Families and friends of those honored are invited to attend. Contact U.S. Army Garrison Rock Island Arsenal public affairs office at (309) 782-7746.
