Recipes being accepted for Prime Beef Cook-Off

MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Prime Beef Festival Cook-Off committee is accepting recipes for its fifth annual competition.

Recipes are due Aug. 8 at the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce office or online at primebeeffestival.com.

There are two categories: dishes featuring ground beef and recipes using select cuts of beef.

Contestants must be 18 years old to participate.

Finalists will be notified by Aug. 22 so they will be prepared to do culinary battle Sept. 6 at the annual Prime Beef Festival.

The recipes will be prepared live from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and judged by a panel of local and regional celebrities.
