The Community Foundation of the Great River Bend has set up the 2008 Flood Relief and Recovery Fund. The first $10,000 in donations to the fund will be matched with $10,000 from the Community Foundation’s Emergency Relief Fund.

Gifts will support the work of nonprofit organizations providing assistance to victims affected by the flood, Susan Skora, Community Foundation president/CEO, said.

“Although the Quad-Cities has been fortunate to avoid most of the effects of the flooding, communities in the foundation’s service area, such as Columbus Junction, have experienced devastating losses,” she said.

Contributions can be sent to the 2008 Flood Relief and Recovery Fund c/o Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, 852 Middle Road, Suite 100, Bettendorf, IA 52722, or online by visiting cfgrb.org and clicking on the Donate Now button. You may also call (563) 326-2840.
