Project NOW’s June 27 annual board meeting will include a walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood to celebrate the group’s 40th anniversary.

Floreciente Building, 135 4th Ave., Moline, is one site among several that helps low-income residents overcome barriers to success. Walk participants will observe Project NOW contributions to area improvements, including Floreciente Neighborhood Center, Outreach offices, small business development, Amigo Park, affordable housing units and Head Start classrooms.

Project NOW estimates that more than 300,000 households and 1 million people have been served with early childhood classes, senior meals, utility assistance, home weatherization, senior rides, homebuyer education classes, transitional housing support, clothing and household items and small business startup assistance and loans.
