North Liberty man arrested for child endangerment

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa — A North Liberty man has been arrested after allegedly leaving an infant alone in a mobile home with five dogs running around.
Allen Dwayne Augustine, 60, faces charges of child endangerment with no injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.
According to the North Liberty Police complaint, officers found Augustine at a neighbors' residence while the infant was strapped into a child safety seat on a recliner chair alone with five dogs. The temperature in the mobile home was about 90 degrees.
