Film on mental illness will be shown at SAU

“Canvas,” a drama about mental illness and its effect on families, will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, in the Rogalski Center Ballroom, located on the St. Ambrose University campus at the corner of Ripley and Lombard streets, Davenport.
The movie will follow the annual meeting of the Scott County National Alliance on Mental Illness at 6 p.m. Admission to the movie and meeting is free.
“Canvas” tells the story of a 10-year-old boy whose mother is schizophrenic and whose father is struggling to cope with her mental illness. The acclaimed 1997 film was written and directed by Joseph Greco and is rated PG-13.
Reservations are required by June 8 and may be made by leaving a message with the number of people attending at (563) 322-6247, Ext. 224.
