Men can participate in prostate screening

Quad-City men are invited to participate in the 11th annual Rudy Quijas Fight Against Cancer Memorial Prostate Screening sponsored by the Quijas family, Trinity Regional Health System and Community Health Partners.

Screenings will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Trinity Cancer Center on the 7th Street Campus in Moline and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf. Screening times are by appointment only.

The screening includes a free PSA blood test and a digital rectal exam. All men are encouraged to participate, particularly those who are 40 years or older, those who have a family history of the disease and those who are African-American or Hispanic. Men under the care of a urologist, previously diagnosed with prostate cancer or more than 80 years old will not be screened.

A limited number of appointments are available and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To set up an appointment, call (309) 779-2000 or (877) 242-8899.
