On the heels of calls by some elected officials to look at new uses for often-flooded Credit Island, Davenport officials plan to hold a community input meeting to hear what residents want to see in the park.

Credit Island remains closed to the public as city crews clean up following recent flooding.

Meantime,  Mayor Bill Gluba and aldermen Nathan Brown, 1st Ward, Ian Frink and Gene Meeker, both At Large, will host the informational meeting.

After receiving public input, a task force will be formed to develop a plan for Credit Island’s future.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Credit Island Pavilion, 2200 W. River Drive.

Credit Island will be open to the public only for this special meeting.  Until cleanup is complete, the park is off limits to the general public.
