How soon our elected Democrats forget who supported them, the recent bargaining bill that asked for labor to have an even playing field with employers goes down in flames largely due to our Democratic governor. We can say unions are this or unions are that, but in the end they forced employers to tow the line with both union and non-union employees. Without unions, do you really think we would have a 40-hour workweek, paid overtime or child labor laws? Our fellow Democrats say that Gov. Culver showed courage by not backing labor but true courage would have been taking a stand with the worker and not the employer. We have to question whether our Democratic candidates and elected officials have sold out for electability.

One in 10 Americans will celebrate Thanksgiving Day at a restaurant and more than half will purchase restaurant-prepared takeout items. And the cost is up for those doing it all at home. What are you doing this year?
I am hosting Thanksgiving at my house.
I will be a guest at someone’s home.
I plan to eat out at a local restaurant.
I will eat at home but we are not cooking: Some or all of the food will be catered.
I hosted Thanksgiving for years. It is someone else’s turn.
    I have no plans.
