Quad-Cities Passenger Rail Coalition, or Q-C Rail, will host a first anniversary celebration from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Celebration Belle, 2501 River Drive. Supporters are invited to celebrate progress toward restoring rail service to the Quad-Cities and thank state and federal legislators, Amtrak and state officials.
In May, U.S. Rep. Phil Hare submitted a $13.5 million request to fund Amtrak service from the Quad-Cities to Chicago. In addition, state Reps. Mike Boland and Pat Verschoore have requested $27 million in state funds through Illinois Capital bill for the route. For more information, go to qcrail.com.
