Radio company pulls plug on Geneseo station

Regional Radio Group said Friday that WGEN Newstalk 1500 in Geneseo, Ill., is merging its local news and high school sports programming into sister station WJRE Hogg Country 102.5.

According to a news release, WGEN’s tower site in Geneseo will become the location of new retail development. WGEN’s last day on the air will be May 15.
