MANCHESTER, Iowa — A 3-year-old boy is safe after wandering off in Backbone State Park near Manchester in northeast Iowa.
The boy’s mother, Lindsay Conner, of Grinnell, reported her son, Jonas, missing late Tuesday afternoon. Delaware County authorities say he wandered away from their cabin.
Officials say the child was found unharmed about 2 hours later about a-half mile away by Sean Edaburn, a firefighter from Delta. Edaburn was walking a fence line and spotted the boy.
Edaburn says Jonas told him he was just camping.
The search involved about 70 people and 10 agencies.
