Tim Taylor has resigned as president of the Quad-City Flames in order to "pursue another opportunity in the hockey industry,'' the team announced today.
Taylor has been with the Flames and their predecessor, the Quad-City Mallards, for three seasons. He was responsible for organizing the purchase of the Quad-City hockey franchise by QC Sports Ventures and for bringing the American Hockey League to the i wireless Center.
He originally came to the Quad-Cities in 2005 as vice president of the United Hockey League Mallards. A year later he was named team president.
“This was a very difficult decision for me and my family, but ultimately this was an opportunity we couldn’t resist,” Taylor said in a statement. “I have sincerely enjoyed my time in the Quad-Cities and will be forever thankful to Dennis Voss (QC Sports Ventures), the Calgary Flames and my fellow co-workers for the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.''
