Soggy conditions at LeClaire Park on the Davenport riverfront has forced Iowa State University to move next week's ISU Tailgate Tour stop in the Quad-Cities.
The event, which includes appearances by Cyclone coaches, athletes and administrators as well as interactive games and inflatable attractions for kids, will now be held at a site adjacent to the Mel Foster Realty office at Cumberland Square along 18th Street in Bettendorf.
"The riverfront is an awesome location for our event, but with the recent flooding on the Mississippi, we're headed to higher ground this year,'' Iowa State director of special events Ryan McGuire said. "We got to a point where we had to make a decision and this seemed to be the way to go. The City of Davenport has been great in assisting us as have the people at Mel Foster.
The event, which is free to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, May 15 from 5-7:30 p.m. A short program featuring Iowa State basketball coaches Bill Fennelly and Greg McDermott, football coach Gene Chizik and director of athletics Jamie Pollard is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
