Motivational speaker to visit area Saturday

ELDRIDGE, Iowa — Motivational speaker Donna Tyson will make an appearance at

1 p.m. Saturday at the North Scott High School auditorium in Eldridge.

There is no admission to attend the speech, which was arranged by Stan Reeg of Wachovia Securities in Davenport. Refreshments will be served.

Tyson, of Surfside Beach, S.C., is a former television and radio talk show host, a business owner, community leader and mother of three grown children. Her list of clients includes the CIA, FBI, the U.S. departments of Transportation and Education, the Mayo Clinic, Bell Atlantic and the American Red Cross.

She has shared the program with the Rev. Robert Schuller and retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, and is a regular writer on work/life issues for South Carolina Woman magazine. She also has written a children’s book about pride and self-esteem titled “The Red Bow.”

Her subject Saturday afternoon will be “Life’s Balance Wheel,” which deals with the importance of establishing balance and prioritizing, identifying the six spokes of the wheel as: career, social, physical, financial, spiritual and emotional.
