“Holland, Luxembourg and Belgium” by Richard Azinger of DeWitt, Iowa, is the subject of the 3 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, travelogues at the DeWitt Operahouse Theater.
The travelogue series is sponsored annually by the Noon Lions Club, with Dick Polansky as chairman.
The Azingers were in Europe during the spring of 2007 with the Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club. The presenters will talk about the art, history, architecture, colorful flowers and triple-bladed wind machines of those nations as they take the audience on a tour of that fascinating part of the world, including “the city that time forgot” — Brugge, Belgium.
The final travelogue of the season will be Tuesday, May 27, when Shirley Davis Homrighausen, travel writer/photographer for the Quad-City Times, will present “Northern Exposures” (Alaska by small boat and western Canada by train). Proceeds from the travelogue will be used by the Lions Club toward a Habitat for Humanity home being built in DeWitt.
A $3 donation is suggested for all programs in the travelogue series. Many DeWitt restaurants offer discounts to travelogue-goers, with a list available at the theater.
