The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a class for professionals, “Advanced Topics in Alzheimer’s Care,” May 7-8 at the Milan (Ill.) Community Center, 2701 E. 1st St.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 7 and 8:30 a.m. to noon May 8. Registration begins at 8 a.m. both days. Attending both days is preferred, but participants may opt to attend one day or the other.

The curriculum was developed by the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association to meet the annual training needs of staff working in care facilities.

The cost is $65 for day one and $35 for day two. A grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health allows persons working in Illinois designated Special Care Units to attend for $10 a day. Continuing education units are available. To register, call (563) 324-1022.
