Davenport police are warning drivers not to drive around barricades or disobey “street closed” signs or drive onto streets covered with water.
Several people were issued traffic citations Saturday for driving around barricades, with at least one driving over a fire hose and sandbags.
Parts of River Drive already are closed off and other portions are restricted, Davenport Police Capt. David Struckman said.
Struckman also asked that people refrain from going into the downtown detour areas for sightseeing. There already is a lot of activity authorities are keeping an eye on, and it is requested that only those people with business to conduct go into those areas.
