Moline Mayor Don Welvaert and Blue Can Group recently distributed recycling education kits to Moline School District elementary schools.
Kits have activities to teach the importance of recycling and how to recycle. Along with books, flash cards, raw material samples and products made from recyclable materials, kits contain a pledge sheet for parents to sign. Midland Davis Co. is sponsoring awards for participating schools.
Blue Can Group, made up of educators committed to recycling, developed the kits. For a presentation on the program, contact Doug House at (309) 797-0773.
