Good morning, Quad-Cities. At 5:29 a.m., it’s 52 degrees with fair skies and 86 percent humidity. The rest of today is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 78 degrees. Tonight, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms late with a low around 58 degrees.

Flooding rivers

The rising Mississippi River is forcing the closure of some roads in Davenport. If you plan to drive on portions of Beiderbecke Drive or Myrtle Street, you might want to take a different route this morning. The Mississippi in the Quad-Cities currently is at 16.1 feet. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The river is expected to crest on Tuesday.

•  Mississippi River at LeClaire, Iowa: 10.47 feet / flood stage is 11.0 feet

•  Wapsipinicon River at DeWitt, Iowa: 12.15 feet / flood stage is 11.0 feet

•  Rock River at Moline: 13.35 feet / flood stage is 12.0 feet

•  Iowa River at Columbus Junction, Iowa: 20.25 feet / flood stage is 19.0 feet

•  Cedar River near Conesville, Iowa:  14.03 feet / flood stage is 13.0 feet

Road closures

Spring weather brings with it area road closures for the Quad-Cities. Currently, there are 24 projects affecting city and/or county roads in the region. Check the list before you head out this morning.
