Program will focus on stem cell research

The University of Iowa Alumni Association and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will host a presentation, “Stem Cells: Hope for the Future,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at CASI, the Center for Active Seniors, 1035 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport. The presentation will be preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Nicholas Zavazava, professor of medicine in the University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine Allergy/ Immunology Division, will discuss stem cell research and its potential to treat otherwise incurable diseases, as well as problems and difficulties in that field of research.
The event is free for University of Iowa Alumni Association members and $5 for non-members. Participants should register online at iowalum.com/lifelonglearning or call (800) 469-2586 today.
