The American Heart Association is dedicating its 13th annual Quad-City gala to ending heart disease in children.
The event will be Saturday at the Outing Club in Davenport. The formal affair, titled “Red and Black Mystery Ball,” will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. The dinner and program will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by entertainment by the Terry Hanson Ensemble and dancing.
This year, attendees will reach out through a special appeals campaign called “Learn and Live.” Money raised will support cardiovascular research and education programs for children such as the American Heart
Association’s Alliance for a Healthier Generation movement.
Along with partners such as the Clinton Foundation, Nickelodeon and the National Football League, the movement is working to help children be “heart-healthy” through programs encouraging physical activity and changes in school and home nutrition.
Tickets are $75 per person. For more information, call (563) 323-4321 or visit americanheart.org or healthiergeneration.org on the Web.
