A Davenport man is accused of robbing Elmo’s Wireless in downtown  Davenport.

Anthony Richard Nolte, 35, is charged with first-degree robbery for allegedly taking $2,800 at gunpoint in the Saturday night incident at 2147 W. 3rd St.

Nolte turned himself into Davenport police after talking with detectives on the phone. The money was recovered at Nolte’s house while officers executed a search warrant.

A masked man walked into Elmo’s just before closing time, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The man then made the clerk lie down on the floor, officials said.
