FULTON, Ill. — The condition of a 21-year-old Fulton man who was injured in a motorcycle accident near here was unavailable late Sunday.
Authorities said Alan Barsema was southbound on Elston Road, south of Fulton, about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle. Barsema, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown several feet.
The accident occurred on Elston Road, North of U.S. 30.
Barsema was transported by Fulton Ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa, and later transferred to University Hospitals, Iowa City. He had been listed Saturday in very critical condition.
Authorities said high speed and alcohol may have played a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
