Liberal writers have no grasp on reality

For readers of the Editorial Page like myself, please note these contrasts on the Feb. 22 page:

First: Two letters to the editor headlined ‘Republicans want you in the dark,” and “Republicans can dodge with the best.”  Both, of course, written by Democrats with their anti-President Bush fangs shining, expressing their naive views of today’s world and our country’s place in it.

Then on the same page is Charles Krauthammer (“Democrats see all but success in Iraq”).

I suppose the letter writers still think that our good United States is still protected by the two big oceans on our shores.  Obviously, they have not read Mark Steyn’s book, “American Alone,” nor have they considered just what the consequences would be if we really did bring all our troops home from overseas. And evidently, they are satisfied with the performance of their Democratic majorities in Congress in the past year.

It took a Republican to correct the mistakes of the Democrats in 1950s, and another Republican to correct the mistakes of the Democrats in the 1970s, and thank God we didn’t have Al Gore or John Kerry to correct the past eight years. I am not saying I approve of all the present administration has done, but the pros sure outnumber the cons.
