St. Ambrose women advance at NAIA Tournament

Ali Dolphin’s first appearance at the NAIA national tournament will be one to remember.

The freshman from Marshalltown, Iowa, scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead St. Ambrose past Southern Oregon 77-58 during first-round action Wednesday.

Dolphin was 12-for-24 from the floor and 5-for-10 from the free-throw line.

Jenny Clark also added 21 points and six rebounds.

The Queen Bees, who led 35-28 at halftime, forced 25 turnovers and had 18 steals.

The Queen Bees (29-5) return to the court Friday at 5:45 p.m., where they will face No. 1 seed Morningside (31-3).
