Black Hawk College is offering a new 15-week Freight Broker Training Program beginning the week of March 24.

Freight brokers find shippers who have cargo to transport and then contract with motor carriers willing to haul the loads. The freight agent is the intermediary who coordinates the freight with the shipping.

The training is primarily an online program, but students will do an internship and meet with the instructor at least three times.

It will be taught by Philip Nenadov, a certified master broker and executive officer of BaukHauLine, Inc., a licensed transportation brokerage in Kewanee, Ill.

Cost is $795 plus a $195 materials fee. For more information or to register, contact Brenda Brown at Black Hawk College at

(309) 796-4823 or at brownb@bhc.edu.
