Scott County Sheriff Dennis Conard has begun his 2008 re-election campaign by submitting nomination papers for re-election.
Conard, a 35-year veteran of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, has served as sheriff since 2001.
He most recently won re-election in a heated contest with former Davenport mayor Phil
Yerington.
During his first two terms as sheriff, Conard helped to oversee planning, construction and occupation of the first phase of the new and remodeled Scott County Jail and implementation of contract policing with the Iowa cities of Dixon and Maysville and the provision of additional security at Scott Community College.
