CLINTON, Iowa — Clinton City Attorney Matt Brisch has resigned to accept a job as a partner at Howes & Jefferies Realtors in Clinton, city officials announced Thursday.
Brisch’s last day on the job will be April 30, and he will start his new job May 1.
In his resignation letter to city leaders, Brisch wrote that he had enjoyed serving as city attorney and was excited about his new
position.
“It is a great opportunity for me to be part of a company integral to the growth of the greatest city to live and raise a family, Clinton, Iowa,” Brisch wrote.
In a news release, Mayor Rodger Holm said Brisch was an asset to the community who would be missed. Holm thanked Brisch for giving enough notice of his resignation to give the city time to hire a successor.
Brisch, 38, became city attorney in November 2005 after working for 15 months as an assistant in the Clinton County Attorney’s Office.
