STOCKTON, Iowa (AP) — A soda pop machine in front of City Hall was hauled away before being broken into, officials said.

The vending machine was stolen from in front of Stockton City Hall about 1 a.m. Saturday, officials with the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department said.

Officials said a witness told investigators that four men loaded the machine into a white pickup truck and left the area.

The machine was later found in rural Cedar County. It had been broken into and soda pop and money had been taken, officials said.

The investigation is continuing.
