ALEDO, Ill. — A Mercer County jury convicted an Aledo man of home invasion and aggravated battery in a domestic violence case.

The guilty verdicts were returned Wednesday night for Tony Willits, 36, after three days of testimony and two hours of deliberation.

Home invasion is a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison, while aggravated battery is a Class 3 felony punishable by 3 to

7 years in prison

The charges stemmed from an incident in September in the 1000 block of West Main Street in Aledo. Willits was accused of choking a woman to the point of unconscious.
