Boys
Davenport Assumption 48, Clinton 39: Davenport Assumption outscored Clinton by three points in each of the first two quarters and by five in third quarter and went on to win.
Asa Klein led the Knights with 14 points and Sean Finn added 12. Clinton’s Jordan Whalan led all scorers with 22 points.
Girls
Davenport Central 39, Pleasant Valley 35: Pleasant Valley hit a pair of 3-pointers to tie the game at 33 midway through the third quarter on Friday, but Central answered the challenge.
The Blue Devils (4-11, 3-8) made up for a slow night from Christa Oldham. With the Spartans all over Oldham on defense, Kate Hoeksema and Mindy Moses each turned in 16-point efforts.
“They’re learning to win,” Devils coach Tom Eagle said. “We made our foul shots down the stretch. Thank goodness for that.”
Central built a seven-point lead late in the third quarter, but Pleasant Valley (8-5, 5-5) came back behind balanced scoring.
Kelsey Jipp led nine Spartan scorers with seven points.
Davenport West 54, Bettendorf 38: Samantha Saladino scored 26 points, and West took over sole possession of second place in the conference.
The Falcons (9-5, 8-2) held Bettendorf (2-11, 2-7) to two points in the second quarter and controlled the second half as well.
“We came out early shooting the ball well,” West coach Gary Honson said. “We’re just trying to develop some consistency. We managed to weather their runs at us and just hung on.”
Lexie Johnson added 17 points for the Falcons, who have six straight games.
Melissa Dunleavy had 13 points for the Bulldogs.
Burlington 75, Davenport North 46: North bolted to a 15-2 lead in the first quarter, but Burlington didn’t lose hope.
The Grayhounds responded with a 19-0 run and ended up topping their previous season-high score by 20 points.
Danielle Stauffer scored 19 points, and Kirstin Kramer added 16 to give Burlington (3-10, 1-9) its first conference win.
North (4-10, 3-7) got 17 points from AG Bradford and 16 from Amber Harrington, but the Wildcars couldn’t slow the Grayhounds.

North Scott 58, Muscatine 49: With Muscatine leading by 14 heading into the fourth quarter, North Scott outscored the Muskies 23-5 to steal a win.
Muscatine had eight of its 20 turnovers in the fourth quarter that aided the Lancers in their turn-around.
“We played very good defense,” North Scott coach Larry Schroeder said of his team’s turnaround in the fourth quarter. “They had some turnovers I’m sure Jeff (Tank) is not going to be happy with and Allison (Anderson) woke up.”
Ashley Dexter, who led North Scott with 15 points, scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.
She hit seven of nine foul shots in the final frame, all with under two minutes remaining.
