Society to host jazz musician

The Mississippi Valley Blues Society presents Fruteland Jackson at 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf.
Jackson was nominated for two W.C. Handy blues music awards, and he was the 1997 recipient of Blue’s Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive award for Blues Education.
Jackson also will visit local schools.
The event is sponsored by The Riverboat Development Authority, The Lodge, LinguiSystems, Alcoa, Sears Manufacturing, the Illinois Arts Council, KALA-FM, Kraft Foods, WQPT and the River Music Experience.
