The Rock Island Township Town Hall, 2827 7th Ave., Rock Island, is open to anyone who would like to get out of the cold during the daytime hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The township has some donated gloves, scarfs and coats available at no charge. Those who go to the township are invited to stay for the St. Joseph Evening Meal, a ministry of St. Pius X Catholic Church, that begins at 5:30 p.m.

The town hall will continue to be open until there is a break from the cold. People can bring a book to read or a hobby to work on. Tables are available. For more information, call 788-3417.
