Iowa trooper, Blue Grass couple injured in head-on crash

WATERLOO, Iowa — Three people, including an Iowa State trooper and two people from Blue Grass, were injured in a head-on crash on U.S. 20.
Trooper Kyle Haack, 29, of Grundy Center, was eastbound about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control while changing lanes, patrol officials said.
Haack’s patrol car crossed the median and collided with a sport-utility vehicle, officials said.
The driver of the SUV, Wayne Johanson, 57, of Blue Grass, and a passenger, Rhonda Johanson, 55, of Blue Grass, were taken to Covenant Hospital in Waterloo. The trooper was taken to Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.
No information on their conditions was available.
